J.D. 1999, with honors, University of California, Hastings College of the Law Practice information Adam practices in the areas of labor and employment law, and criminal defense. Since Adam joined our office in 2003, he has represented employees and private and public sector labor unions and their members in numerous administrative, civil, and criminal matters. He has advised employees in licensing matters before the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, and the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Adam has represented clients at arbitration, and before the Fair Dismissal Appeals and Merit Systems Protection Boards. Adam also provides criminal defense representation, including trial work, diversion assistance, and expungement services. Adam devotes substantial pro-bono services to the community. He is presently the Legal Coordinator for the Western Regional Advocacy Project, a non-profit organization coordinating efforts in Washington State, Oregon, and California to influence the federal government’s response to the problem of homelessness. He has chaired Attorneys for Youth, a project of the Multnomah Bar Association. In a 2004 pro-bono criminal case involving free speech and assembly issues, Adam successfully challenged, and forced changes in, an unconstitutional Portland City Code that restricted sidewalk use.
